We would like to honour the memory of a dear friend of Thien Phuoc, Mr Mike Tung Tran. Unfortunately Mike passed away on Saturday 1st September on Lake Conroe in Texas while trying to save two children whose boat had over turned.
For a young man of 25 years he had a true selfless heart of gold, for his actions on this day and also for the care he extended to the children of Thien Phuoc. Mike came to Vietnam in September 2010 to support the children of Thien Phuoc; he along with other volunteers bought and delivered supplies of food. While at our centre Mike was able to spend some time playing with the children. He had anticipated returning to Vietnam in 2013 to visit the kids.
We at Thien Phuoc would like to express our condolences to Mike’s family and our gratitude to them for their generous donation in memory of their son. Mike will always be remembered fondly for his work with the children.
